Privacy policy

Who I am
This website belongs to Two Row Home Services, a home-repair business run by Chris from Six Nations of the Grand River, Ontario. I’m responsible for the personal information you send through it.
This policy explains what the website collects, why, who handles it, how long I keep it, and how to ask me about it.
What the price form collects
When you ask for a price, the form collects:
- Your name and phone number
- Your email address, if you give one (it’s needed if you choose to send photos later)
- The job’s address
- The kind of job, what needs doing, and when you’d like it done
- Any photos you add, on the form or through the photo link. Your browser removes the camera and location details from each photo it can open before sending; a photo it can’t open (some iPhone photos sent from a computer) arrives as it is
How I use it
I use what you send to:
- Give you a price and answer your questions
- Book and do the job if you say yes
- Confirm your request by email, with a private link to add photos
- After a job, ask you once how it went
- Send past customers the odd seasonal reminder (see “Messages from me”)
Where your information goes
Your request is saved in the business’s own database and your photos in its own file storage, both hosted by Cloudflare. A copy comes to the business email inbox.
A few service providers help run the website: a web host and storage, an email delivery service, the business email provider (Zoho Mail), and a spam check that confirms a visitor is a person. To do that, they process technical details such as your IP address and browser type.
As you type the job’s address, the website asks Google Maps for matching addresses so you can pick yours. Google receives the letters you type, but not your IP address or anything else from the form. These suggestions are Google Maps features and content: using them is subject to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service (maps.google.com/help/terms_maps) and the Google Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy).
To stop misuse of the address suggestions, the website counts lookups per visitor using a scrambled code made from the IP address. The code changes every day, can’t be turned back into the address, and isn’t saved with your request. If you give an email address, the website also keeps a scrambled code made from it for a few days, so one address gets no more than two confirmation emails in a day.
Some of these providers store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States. Information held in another country is subject to its laws and may be accessible to its courts, law enforcement and national security authorities.
The photo link
If you give an email address, I send you one email to confirm your request, with a private link to add photos. Anyone who has the link can add photos to your request, so please don’t forward it. It stops working after 14 days.
I don’t sell your information
I don’t sell, rent or trade your personal information. I share it only with the service providers that run the website and email, or when the law requires it.
Cookies and tracking
This website doesn’t set cookies of its own, and it doesn’t use analytics or advertising tools.
The spam check may set a security cookie to tell people from bots. Its provider describes it as strictly necessary and says it isn’t used to track you from site to site.
Messages from me
Asking for a price doesn’t sign you up for anything. I email you about your request and your job.
After a job, I may ask you once how it went.
If you’ve hired me, I may send you the odd seasonal reminder, like gutter cleaning in the fall, for up to two years after your last job. Every reminder tells you how to stop them, and I stop as soon as you ask.
How long I keep it
If a request doesn’t become a job, I delete it and its photos two years after we last talked.
If it becomes a job, I keep the job’s records, including the request, for six years, as tax law requires.
You can ask me to delete a request sooner.
Your requests
You can ask me what personal information I hold about you, and ask me to correct or delete it. You can also tell me to stop any reminders.
To make a request, or to ask anything about this policy, email me at the address below.
If you’re not satisfied with my answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
Changes to this policy
If I change this policy, I’ll post the new version on this page with a new date at the top.
